Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Vailima (?; 5-6). The single male V. masinei Peckham & Peckham, 1907 was said to be close to Harmochirus (p. 342), but the male palp, chelicera and cephalothorax drawn by Proszynski, 1984 and new, recently collected specimens, indicate that this is not the case. Distribution: Vailima is known only from Borneo. General remarks: Most of these genera are known only from south east Asia. Although there are still no habitat details, genitalia and occasionally other drawings are now available for many of them. In the original descriptions and in Simon's salticid classification, mention is sometimes made of close and more familiar relatives. The latter will be discussed in more detail in due course.
