Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Smart and/or furry salticids. Found in warm, stony or bare areas. Genus: Genus: Plexippoides. This is a genus of fairly large, brownish coloured spiders. The cephalothorax is moderately raised with the sides sloping steeply and the thorax sloping more gradually from the flattish cephalus. The cephalus is shiny black and the sides brown, sometimes with a pale pattern. The abdomen is an elongated oval, narrowing slightly, posteriorly. It is brownish in colour with some broken, longitudinal, alternately light and dark bands. The legs are lightish brown and carry short dark spines. Distribution: The distribution of Plexippoides stretches from the eastern Mediterranean through central Asia to China and Japan, often occurring in mountainous regions. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 346.
